In 2020, Thrombosis UK worked in collaboration with NHS Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) to initiate the very first NHS GIRFT VTE Survey. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, valuable insight into the prevention and management of venous thromboembolism in hospital settings has come from the survey, including insight into COVID-19 specific hospital associated VTE (HA-VTE). In recognition of WTD Thrombosis UK, NHS GIRFT and the VTE Exemplar Centres will be hosting a meeting to discuss: - The value and role of NHS GIRFT - The specifics of the VTE Survey - Next step in understanding HA-VTE - Improving practice and implementing recommendations
