BD Joins World Thrombosis Day Campaign as Global Contributor to Raise Awareness of Life-Threatening Blood Clots

CHAPEL HILL, NC, USA – September 27, 2018 — The World Thrombosis Day campaign today announced that BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company), a leading global medical technology company, has joined the campaign as a Global Contributor of its global awareness initiative to help reduce death and disability caused by thrombosis, also known as blood clots. Observed on 13 October, World Thrombosis Day, led by the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), mobilizes more than 1,500 partner organizations to hold more than 9,000 awareness events worldwide each year. Last year alone, the campaign reached an estimated 2.7 billion people in an effort to shine a spotlight on the burden of this condition.
