New and updated #MyClotStory for 2026

Your #MyClotStory has the power to protect another woman

Women face blood clot risks that are unique to their bodies, their hormones and their health journeys, yet too many are still caught off guard when a clot occurs. Blood clots are among the most preventable causes of maternal death worldwide, and conditions like deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism disproportionately affect women during some of the most significant chapters of their lives, from taking hormonal contraception and navigating pregnancy to recovering postpartum and managing menopause.

That is why World Thrombosis Day is asking women to share their #MyClotStory like never before.

This is not the same form you may have seen before. We have developed a new set of questions specifically designed to capture the women’s health experiences behind blood clots, because the more we understand your story, the more we can help the next woman recognize her symptoms before it is too late. Whether you have shared your story with us in the past or this is your first time, we want to hear from you again. Your answers to these new questions will directly shape how we educate and advocate for women around the world.

Every story submitted becomes part of a global library of lived experience reaching women in more than 190 countries. You do not need to be a medical expert. You do not need to have all the answers. You just need to be willing to share what happened to you, because somewhere out there, a woman is searching for a story that sounds like hers.
