2. Expand Media Efforts and Engagement
We will elevate our traditional and digital media efforts to even greater heights in 2017. This means you will see new digital resources, including an updated Survivor Selfie profile picture frame, new press release templates, thrombosis-related data to share with local media, and much more! We will also launch new digital education activities, including a thrombosis virtual media briefing. Don’t forget to use the hashtag #WTDay17 in all of your campaign conversations on social media.

3. Publish New Scientific Resources
Stay tuned for informative new scientific research resources this year, including a new research publication. New resources will be available in both July and October 2017. Led by the WTD steering committee, the campaign’s scientific assets are an important component to thrombosis knowledge and awareness in the field.

4. Provide New Resources Designed for Healthcare Professionals
We will provide new educational offerings and collateral resources designed specifically for healthcare professionals and organizations. From hospital managers to quality care staff, these resources will be important tools to help educate others about the treatment and prevention of thrombosis. These resources will be launched in advance of WTD 2017 and will be available free to download for all partners.

5. Host a Live Video Broadcast on 13 October
In an effort to highlight the incredible events and activities organized by partners around the world, WTD 2017 will host its first-ever LIVE video broadcast on 13 October! Tune in as activities worldwide are streamed live on social media and share in the experiences of your fellow partners. Also, this year WTD global activities will take part in New York City and Brussels, Belgium.

6. Magnify the Patient Voice Through StoriesWe are committed to continuing to tell the stories of thrombosis patients and survivors around the world. In 2017, a survivor anthem video will be launched to celebrate the stories of thrombosis survivors through their own first-hand accounts. This video will be a great tool to share on social media and to feature at your event or activity on 13 October. We will also continue the success of the survivor selfie and personal story campaigns on the WTD website.

7. Increase Global Footprint at Tradeshows
We are excited to promote the WTD campaign at the ISTH 2017 Congress from July 8-13 in Berlin, Germany. Join us for a variety of activities to promote WTD, including flash giveaways and an educational symposium on Sunday, July 9. The WTD team will also attend the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) 2017 Congress in Barcelona, Spain, and the American Society of Hematology (ASH) 2017 Meeting in Atlanta, USA. If you are attending these shows, please let us know and plan to visit the ISTH booth. We can also support your WTD activities by providing educational resources and WTD giveaways to share at your organization’s booth or meeting.
