Inaugural WTD Gains Worldwide Media Coverage
The inaugural World Thrombosis Day movement was a huge success and raised the profile of thrombosis and thromboembolic disease to millions of individuals around the world.
Global and in-country campaigns generated more than 848 media stories in 53 countries that reached 153,276,670 impressions. Media coverage stemmed from a pivotal burden of disease paper which was published simultaneously in five peer-reviewed scientific journals worldwide, including Seminars in Thrombosis and Hemostasis, Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology, Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis and The Lancet.
