Cedric Hermans is head of the Division of Adult Haematology, the Haemostasis and Thrombosis Unit and the Haemophilia Centre at the Cliniques Universitaires Saint-Luc in Brussels. He is also full Professor at the Medical School of the Catholic University of Louvain (UCLouvain).

Professor Hermans has (co-)authored more than 350 original (PubMed) papers in international journals and is an active member of several international scientific societies and advisory boards and collaborative research projects in the field of thrombosis and haemostasis.

He is a past president of EAHAD (European Association of Haemophilia and Allied Disorders) and he is currently an elected medical member of the board of the World Federation of Hemophilia and Editor-in-Chief of the Haemophilia Journal (Wiley).

His main research interests are in the field of haemostasis and thrombosis, including clinical studies of treatment modalities and the wide range of complications of hemophilia in developed and resource-limited countries, as well as new anticoagulants, the management and prevention of thrombotic conditions.
