Medscape Education Global Partners With ISTH on World Thrombosis Day 2020 Social Media Initiative
London, United Kingdom (October 2020) Medscape Education Global is proud to announce a collaboration with the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) for World Thrombosis Day 2020 (WTD20). The World Thrombosis Day awareness campaign takes place on 13 October and focuses attention on the underappreciated condition of thrombosis, also known as blood clots.
For a second consecutive year, Medscape will participate as a guest media host on the ISTH World Thrombosis Day Twitter Chat—an interactive digital discussion on trending topics related to blood clot risks and prevention. This initiative garners more than 96 million impressions annually.
In October 2020, Medscape will launch the discussion on Twitter by disseminating information and educational resources, as well as by interacting with the audience through the hashtags #WTDay20 and #ClotChat. Topics explored in the chat include COVID-19 and thrombosis, cancer-associated thrombosis, and gender-specific risks.
“With this year’s pandemic, we are committed, more than ever, to delivering credible information, education, and resources around venous thromboembolism and particularly around the impact from COVID-19,” said Adrian Duncan, Group Vice President at Medscape Education Global. “The Medscape partnership with ISTH on World Thrombosis Day is an opportunity to continue to raise awareness and reinforce our common goal to help improve outcomes for patients.”
The WTD20 Live Twitter Chat will take place on 13 October at 12 pm ET. To join the discussion, follow Medscape and World Thrombosis Day on Twitter @MedscapeCME @ThrombosisDay or through the hashtags #ClotChat and #WTDay20.
