“RITI 2023”: IL REGISTRO ITALIANO DELLE TROMBOSI INFANTILI NEL 2023 “I NUOVI ORIZZONTI NELLA DIAGNOSI E CURA DELLE TROMBOSI DEL BAMBINO”
13 October, 2023
1:30pm -
Thrombosis is considered a rare event among children, estimated at around 1 case every 100,000 children, but in the last two decades, the number of thromboses diagnosed in childhood has progressively increased up to the surprising figure of 1 case every 200 children admitted to hospitals.
In 2007 was created the first Italian Registry of Infantile Thrombosis (R.I.T.I.) thanks to ALT ONLUS and the collaboration of pediatricians, neonatologists, hematologists, radiologists, internists and other experts and specialists working in many Italian hospitals. Five years after its creation, RITI has become one of the Thrombosis Registries for older children in the world, counting over 1000 cases of children with Thrombosis already entered with very detailed information on the events that occurred, on the risk factors, the therapies carried out and the clinical outcome.
The rationale of the “RITI 2023 Congress”, sponsored by ALT ONLUS, is to take stock of the current situation of diagnosis, therapy and prevention of Neonatal and Pediatric, Systemic and Cerebral Thromboses. This will form the premise for the actual presentation of the RITI data collected up to the present day. After a description of the RITI structure, recently uploaded on a new IT platform, the data on Infantile Thrombosis of over 1000 Italian cases included will be presented, with a detailed analysis of the management methods of this pathology in our Country compared with those of the other International registers. Through the cases reported by physicians in the RITI, it will be possible to address particular problems of etiology, diagnosis, and treatment of childhood thrombosis, including at atypical sites. Hemorrhagic complications of antithrombotic therapies performed are also included in the case studies. An incredible opportunity to redefine “new horizons of the etiology, diagnosis and treatment of pediatric thrombosis.”
The Congress is aimed at 100 doctors specialized in:
Pediatrics, Neonatology, Internal Medicine, Pediatric Cardiology, Oncology, Vascular Surgery, Nephrology, Child Neuropsychiatry, Hematology, Pediatric nurses, Biologists.
ALT ONLUS support the event with press office and social media activities (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Newsletter and Web site).
