Informing the public of Thessaloniki about Thrombosis

The 1st Propedeutic Department of Internal Medicine, AUTH, based in the AHEPA hospital, Thessaloniki, Greece, has a reputation of long association and particular interest with hemostasis diseases.

With this letter, we would like to inform you about an action of our Dpt, which will be dedicated to World Thrombosis Day. On October the 13th (World Thrombosis Day 2022), Sunday, in the morning we will distribute (together with our 6th year students of Medicine) informative flyers for the day, in the center of the city of Thessaloniki, near the new Metro station of AGIA SOFIA. Local media will be invited to present the thrombosis campaign and support our cause.

The Dpt is trying to establish a permanent annual reminder of the event in the near future as well, as the problem of thrombosis is one of the most important in the health field, since approximately 25% of patients worldwide suffer its consequences either as inpatients or as outpatients.

Taking the opportunity of this event, we would like to emphasize that our DPT will in the future be a part of the global effort of awareness about thrombosis and would like to collaborate with you.
