Patricia Casais graduated from the University of Buenos Aires, School of Medicine, Argentina, and obtained her doctorate and a master’s degree in clinical effectiveness from the same university. She completed her Residency in Hematology and Fellowship in Thrombosis and Hemostasis at the Institute of Hematological Research, National Academy of Medicine, in Buenos Aires.
She is currently appointed Chief of Hematology at the Hospital General de Agudos “Bernardino Rivadavia.” She is co-coordinator and researcher of the Clinical Epidemiology and Evidence Research Group, at the Public Health Research Institute in the University of Buenos. She is a Professor at the University of Buenos Aires.
Casais is a member of the ISTH Guidelines and Guidance Committee, and she was also co-chair of the ISTH Scientific Subcommittee on Women’s Health Issues in Thrombosis and Hemostasis. She was the president of the Argentine Cooperative Group on Hemostasis and Thrombosis and served as the coordinator for the World Thrombosis Day Task Force in Argentina from 2015-2018.
