Gabriela Cesarman-Maus graduated as a clinical fellow in Hematology and Oncology from New York Presbyterian / Weill Cornell University Medical Center in New York. She worked at Katherine Hajjar Lab in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology on the characterization of Annexin A2 in fibrinolysis and antiphospholipid syndrome.

Dr. Cesarman-Maus is co-founder and scientific committee member of the Mexican Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (SOMETH), and former Board of Directors member for Thrombosis and Hemostasis Societies of North America (THSNA) representing SOMETH.

She has co-organized academic events, such as a joint Anticoagulation Forum-SOMETH Boot Camp, the XXXIV World Congress of the International Society of Hematology, and an ISTH-led Work Shop in Querétaro. She is former scientific chair for the Mexican Society of Hematology (AMEH) and serves as the current Mexico representative for Grupo Cooperativo Latino Americano de Hemsotasia y Trombosis (CLAHT).

At the National Cancer Institute in Mexico, Dr. Cesarman-Maus has the privilege of meeting and taking care of people with cancer who have developed thrombosis.
