Aaron M. Wendelboe is the Chair of the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology in the Hudson College of Public Health at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences. His career goal is to bridge academic and applied public health to improve population health outcomes, including the prevention of venous thromboembolism (VTE). Since 2012, he has been part of a U.S. CDC-funded collaborative project to conduct population-based surveillance for VTE.
He has been a member of ISTH for over a decade and served on the inaugural World Thrombosis Day Steering Committee from 2014–2019. Dr. Wendelboe has served the National Board of Public Health Examiners as an Item Writer and co-developed a Job Task Analysis. He regularly reviews manuscripts for the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, Research and Practice in Thrombosis and Haemostasis, and Thrombosis and Haemostasis.
He has also served in a number of capacities for the State of Oklahoma and the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Centers, including Interim State Epidemiologist, Co-Chair of Interdisciplinary Education Strategic Committee, and the Executive Emergency Operations Team.
